At the 2025 Venice Film Festival, Apple presented the film "Submerged," directed by Edward Berger, as the first scripted film for the Apple Vision Pro. This short WWII submarine film, while visually impressive, was criticized for its weak drama. The film uses a 180-degree view, which allows for traditional filmmaking techniques. XR cinema continues to evolve with both linear and spatial experiences that explore new forms of storytelling.
