This short WWII submarine film, while visually impressive, was criticized for its weak drama. The film uses a 180-degree view, which allows for traditional filmmaking techniques. Other XR works, such as Doug Liman's "Adventure: Ice Dive" and "Asteroid," follow a similar non-interactive model, which works well for both home and film theater use. XR cinema continues to evolve with both linear and spatial experiences that explore new forms of storytelling.
